Published on: 09/27/2022

Description

All courthouse facilities in Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas Counties will be closed from Tuesday through Thursday in anticipation of Hurricane Ian.

Closures were first announced in the 6th Judicial Circuit, which includes Pinellas and Pasco Counties. Only advisory hearings will occur at the Pinellas County Justice Center in Clearwater and the West Pasco Judicial Center in New Port Richey.

Hillsborough court officials announced that the courthouses in Tampa and Plant City will close Tuesday through Thursday. First-appearance, juvenile detention and shelter hearings will continue to occur. Jurors should not report for jury duty, court officials said.

Federal court in the Middle District of Florida’s Tampa division will also be closed Tuesday through Thursday, according to an announcement on the court’s website. Electronic case filing and management systems will remain available.
